Birch Haven Senior Living, located near the shores of Lake Superior and surrounded by nature,  is a smaller senior community made up of 4 comfortable and cozy homes.  In each of our homes, our dedicated team members are able to offer our residents with very flexible, unique and personal care.  In larger communities, sometimes that is not possible. Many of our residents would rather be in their own homes and be as independent as possible with a purpose each day, and they may only need a little assistance with their daily lives.  Many also desire companionship - maybe over a cup of coffee, with friends they've made here as well as telling stories and talking about the "good old days".  Memories are so important and a common link among all of our residents.

Each of our four homes offers rooms for 8 -14 residents which means Residents enjoy their  privacy and dignity in their differing care needs.  Being that we are able to offer our residents a smaller and cozier lifestyle, they receive important individual care for a wide range of abilities and disabilities. Focusing on the elderly population, we also offer services for those who have special needs such as physical disabilities, mental illness, dementia, use of wheelchairs, and depression and/or anxiety. Some of our residents may come to us needing very minimal care but if their needs change, we can change their care plan together which allows residents to remain where they are comfortable.

At Birch Haven, our dedicated team members are always available to do what they can to make every resident feel loved and important. We believe that to be very important in their daily lives and we try to make every day a good day. From the very first day a resident comes here to live, we would like to know what they enjoy doing whether it be puzzles, reading, playing games/cards or even if they just like someone to visit with. And very important we would like to know what their favorite foods are. All meals are made right here and maybe we can try someone's favorite recipe!

All residents are encouraged to participate in daily activities and events offered at Birch Haven no matter what their care level may be. All family and friends are welcome and encouraged to come and visit at any time.  They can participate in daily activities or just come and have a cup of coffee with their loved one.

Each of our homes is unique in its own way.....private patios, wonderful outdoor and lake views, and some have single/ double rooms which works very well for couples. Feel free to contact us with any questions you may have.  We'd like to impress you with a tour.
